ABOUT THE ART SANCTUARY
The Art Sanctuary consists of David Jenkins, photographer and Vivianne Hazenveld, a painter and mixed media artist. Located on the Northern beaches, our aim is to revel in our art together with other creative people.

Looking forward to hearing from you,
Vivianne and David
While Vivianne’s prior art studies gave her a grounding in the more conventional ways of creating art, her most recent pieces see her delving into an unusual style of mixed media relief work. Using a variety of mediums ranging from conventional acrylics, to oil, pastels, impasto and, at times, 3 dimensional objects and more.
They can be viewed from a distance as an abstract combination of colour and texture while a more intimate world is revealed upon closer viewing, with delicate techniques and almost microscopic details.
Created with minimal preconceived ideas of what a finished work will look like, Vivianne combines the unusual and embraces any ‘accidents’ that occur along the way.
No matter what the subject matter or style of her work, Viviannes works are bound to be slightly unusual and to feature luscious textures, a lyrical sense of line, sensual forms and sumptuous colours as found in nature.
Vivianne has exhibited throughout NSW including Manly Art Gallery and Museum, Art Focus Gallery, Lavender Bay Gallery, Glen Street Gallery, Casula Powerhouse and the Griffith and Orange Regional Galleries. Her works have been included in the Warringah Art Exhibition and purchased for the Arts North Permanent Collection.
Vivianne has attained her Fine Art Diploma, several Design Certificates and a Certificate IV in Craft and Visual Art Practice Business Skills. She has also had gallery experience at two Northern Beaches galleries and managed a local artists studio space.
Vivianne runs local art classes on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, teaching beginners the joy and possibilities which lie within creating art. Please contact her directly for more details on 0417 450 744.
